The idea would be to produce a new from-scratch user interface that contains only the SNES core, with most of the complexity of higan stripped away. So for instance, it would load standalone game ROM files without the use of gamepaks. It would lose all of the systems configuration stuff and be more streamlined just for the SNES alone. And perhaps most importantly, I want to attempt to write a scanline-based parallel implementation of the SNES PPU that will use as many CPU cores as you can throw at it. The result should be performance above bsnes-balanced, but without any accuracy loss as occurred with bsnes-performance.

The goal would not be a modern v073. It would be more trimmed down still: no software filters, no screenshot capture, no movie recording/playback. Just the essentials, plus whatever I can sneak in transparently (eg soft-patching support.) And written in hiro so as to avoid the need for the massive Qt DLLs (and the bugs they bring.)

I don't have a timeline for when/if this will happen, but it's something I'd very much like to do.

- Fixed instances where the game slowed down during certain scenes.
- The Korean font has been updated.
- Other small bugs are fixed.

RetroArch bekommt nun übrigens auch eine Desktop-Oberfläche spendiert:



Sieht zwar bisher nur wie eine Low-Budget-Version von facTotum aus, aber für den Anfang nicht schlecht. ^^

Gern geschehen! Das kann ich natürlich verstehen, dass du dich dann derzeit mit anderen Dingen in der Freizeit beschäftigst. ^^' Aber das ist auch nicht sonderlich schlimm... immerhin funktioniert das Programm einwandfrei und macht keine größeren Probleme. fröhlich Hat also Zeit, das ganze. Ich bearbeite den Beitrag nur immer gleich, da ich so kleinere Sachen ansonsten schnell vergesse.

- An option will be added to select between a UI optimised for controller/keyboard and one optimised for mouse/tablets.

We’re working as quickly as we can as many of the features you’ve been requesting to CHRONO TRIGGER on Steam and we will post another update here as soon as possible.

Solltest du, ja. Auf den ersten Blick sieht man gar nicht, wie viele Bugs dann doch tatsächlich ausgemerzt wurden - sehr schön! Bis zur nächsten Version soll hauptsächlich an der Geschwindigkeit geschraubt werden. Unter anderem auch deshalb, damit das Ziel "Pentium II" erreicht werden kann. smile

Finde es absolut bemerkenswert, dass die Emulation bereits schon jetzt so gut ist und es fast die Kompatibilität von Higan erreicht.
