Natürlich keine Story-Elemente. Bei "Chinatown" ging's am meisten um den Film Noir-Aspekt. Bei "Der dritte Mann" war gerade der besondere Look und die Atmosphäre in den Katakomben Inspiration (Zitat Terri Brosius: "We would watch clips and talk about that when talking about creating certain areas for Thief. They were just the most amazing visuals, those sewers.") Und zu "Der Elefantenmensch" sagte Dan Thron im Interview: "If you watch the Elephant Man, which is actually a huge reference point visually for Thief, you can't go and draw a regular looking gritty medieval thing again. David Lynch is going to hugely influence that."
