Question for you all: 
Do you like the idea of me sharing every little detail of the development process — including character coding and all the behind‑the‑scenes tweaks — or would you rather have more general updates instead?

I prefer monthly / quarterly progress reports similar to the Dolphin progress reports or reassembler's Sonic on Amiga reports. They wouldn't list every detail but mostly the solutions - what ends up in the final products with some little anecdotes what was considered as alternatives.

Especially in the context of a new original game in development that is not a port of an existing one, I do not want to learn about every enemy type and weapon type before playing because I think experiencing and exploring it myself is a major part of the fun.
