[Problem] NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT unter openSuse 10.2

Hallo,

Ich hab ein Problem das openSuse 10.2 meine Grafikkarte "NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT" nicht installiert.
Hab mich dabei an die Anleitung gehalten.

Es wird aber immer noch ein "VESA Framebuffer Graphics" als Grafiktreiber genommen.

Weiß jemand was ich ändern muss, damit es meine Grafikkarte nimmt, weil ich die 3D Beschleunigung benötige und zur Zeit das Bild total ruckelt.

Bei dir sollte dann folgendes stehen:

Wenn Du die Änderungen vorgenommen hast, kannst Du den X-Server mit [STRG]+[ALT]+[BACKSPACE] beenden. Er sollte dann automatisch neu starten - mit den neuen Einstellungen. Macht er das nicht, starte ihn mit startx in der Konsole. Es kann aber auch sein, dass irgendeine Einstellung fehlerhaft ist, dafür hast du aber dann ja die Sicherheitskopie gemacht. Kommentiere am Besten die ursprünglichen Stellen mit einem # in jeder Zeile aus und schreiben das neue Zeugs hintendran.

Ja Danke, dass nach dem Edit muss ich noch versuchen.
Mit der ersten Änderung das hab ich schon gemacht, danach komme ich aber nur nicht mehr auf die grafische Oberfläche.
Weißt du wie ich die Datei bearbeiten kann ohne die grafische Oberfläche.

Hab es schon mit dem Befehl edit geschaft, nur bekomme ich die Datei nicht geschlossen und gespeichert.

Na wenn Du ohne grafischer Oberfläche nicht zurecht kommst, kannst Du doch die alte xorg.conf wieder zurückkopieren:

Wichtig ist, dass der Eintrag DEINEGRAFIKKARTE an beiden Stellen exakt übereinstimmt!

Ein einfacher Editor ist zum Beispiel nano. Den kannst Du mit

nano -w xorg.conf

aufrufen. Wenn der nicht installiert ist, versuchs mit vi. Vi ist aber ein etwas anspruchsvollerer Editor und für Anfänger etwas schwer zu bedienen. Wenn beide nicht installiert sind, kannst Du sie mit yast auch ohne grafische Oberfläche installieren.

Wenn ich das System starte bekomme ich am Ende die Ausgabe.

Wenn ich die Oberfläche dann mit startx versuche zu starten, kommt am Anfang der Fehler.

Ich habs jetzt schonmal geschaft das es die Karte nimmt, musst statt "nvidia" nur "nv" bei mir sein.

Hab aber immer noch ein Problem damit.

In den Einstellungen steht als eingetragene Karte "VESA Framebuffer Grafics", was nicht weiter stören würde.
Das Problem ist aber das es die nicht als 3D nimmt, es kommt jedenfalls die Meldung "Keine 3D Grafikkarte verfügbar oder 3D-Unterstützung noch nicht Konfiguriert" wenn ich das 2D-Motocross-Spiel starten möchte.

kenne mich damit nicht aus, aber ich würde einfach mal gentoo als distribution empfehlen, das board von der distro ist auch super riesig man kriegt sofort antworten

Von Gentoo würde ich abraten. Ich habe einige Distributionen ausprobiert, und Gentoo war die, die bei mir die meisten Probleme hervorgebracht hat.
Ich weiß ja nicht, ob Du generell andere Distributionen ausprobieren möchtest, oder bei der bleiben möchtest, die Du gerade benutzt.
Aber in der aktuellen c't ist eine DVD dabei, die das Knoppix 5.2 mit 3D-Desktop (Beryl) enthält.
Dazu ein sehr umfangreicher, zig seitiger Bericht mit Install-Hilfe.
C't typisch seriös und hilfreich geschrieben. Besser kann man nicht Starten bzw. Testen. Und das Knoppix macht einen sehr guten Eindruck.

Bis jetzt hab ich immer Suse genommen, weil es mir vom Umfang und so am besten gefallen hat, bei meinem vorgängermodell vom Rechner brauchte ich auch nichts an Hardware Manuell einrichten.
Nur bei dem ist wo die Grafikkarte und so noch etwas zu neu, zudem hab ich Linux auch als 64 Bit Version installiert.

Von Knoppix hab ich erst gestern die Live CD geladen, muss es nur noch mal auf CD Brennen und Testen.

Eine andere Distributionen möchte ich auch nicht unbedingt Installieren, da ich auf dem Rechner zwei feste Betriebsysteme haben möchte, einmal Windows XP Pro und openSuse 10.2, was ich nur noch richtig Einrichten muss.
Also die Grafikkarte muss 3D werden, mein Logitech Bluetooth Desktop MX5000 soll richtig gehen sowie meine Boardinterne Soundkarte soll richtig erkannt werden.

Natürlich soll auch das Spie 2D-Motocross laufen.

Edit: Wie kann ich im Firefox bei openSuse 10.2 überhaupt die Rechtschreibprüfung auf Deutsch umstellen, weil es Unterstreich jetzt fast jedes Wort rot.

Hatte ich schon versucht, komme aber mit der manuellen Einrichtung nicht so richtig zu recht.
Ich benötige am besten eine einfache Lösung wie ich meine Karte mit 3D Unterstützung verwenden kann.

Wenn Du nv nimmst, hast Du den OpenSource-Treiber mit weniger Funktionalität. Der proprietäre Nvidia-Treiber hingegen bietet mehr Funktionen, wie die von dir gewünschte 3D-Beschleunigung. Ich habe leider auf die Schnelle keine tabellarische Übersicht der Funktionen gefunden.

Den Befehl "nvidia" nimmt es ja leider nicht, vielleicht sollte ich das doch mal mit den anderen Treiber versuchen.

EDIT: Konte jetzt den Treiber von Nvidia installieren und siehe da jetzt geht 3D.

Hat zwar jetzt nicht viel Einstellungen vorgenommen, was ich aber jetzt von Hand machen könnte.
